GIVE KIDS THE WORLD

Give Kids the World is a children’s resort situated in Kissimmee, Florida. This unique resort is created for the children who suffer from terminal illness and their families. The main aim of Give Kids the World is to fulfill the desires of all children who suffer from terminal illness. Children aged between 3 and 18, who are diagnosed positively for life-threatening illnesses can visit Give Kids the World resort with their family members. The donor organizations take care of their transportation expenditures and the resort provides them free accommodation, food and amusement facilities to make them enjoy their life for next 6 days. These children are taken to other attractions around Central Florida such as Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort and Sea World free of cost.

Give Kids the World is the brain child of Henri Landwirth, who was managing a hotel at Cocoa Beach. Once he met a family at his hotel whose daughter was suffering from Leukemia and he heard the story about how that special trip was arranged for the enjoyment of their daughter. Unfortunately, before fulfilling her wish she succumbed to her illness. Saddened by this incident, Landwirth approached his colleagues in the hotel industry and various amusement parks with an action plan. He proposed to bring such children along with their family to Central Florida within 24 hours, and show them all the attractions. He also proposed to establish a special resort for these children and their families with all facilities such as accommodation, food, recreations free of cost, so that they can have a memorable event in their life before it ends.

Thus Landwirth’s wish vacation took its shape from one of his hotel rooms. In 1986 with the establishment of Give Kids the World Village, Landwirth’s vision became a reality. Today it has grown to a premier resort for children with 102 villas, a multi cuisine restaurant, Movie Theater, various gaming facilities, theme park and a water park. Many such children from United States as well as other countries visit Give Kids the World and fulfill their wishes.
